Nomination Guidelines
Showcase your municipality with a Saskatchewan Municipal Award!
All Saskatchewan municipal practices initiated in 2000 or later are eligible for an award, including projects involving multiple municipalities. You can self-nominate your own practice, your neighbours practice, or be nominated in more than one category each year.
Municipal Service Excellence
Any municipal practice that enhances the ability of the municipal corporation to deliver cost effective services that regularly exceed the expectations of their customers. (View the 2007 winning submission here)
Economic Development Leadership
Any municipal practice that demonstrates the municipal corporation's use of strategies to improve the local economic development climate while supporting long-term economic development in Saskatchewan. (View the 2007 winning submission here)
Regional Leadership and Partnerships
Any municipal practice that exemplifies efforts to consult and cooperate with other municipalities, non-governmental organizations, community groups, First Nations, other governments, and citizens for the purpose of delivering benefits to citizens. (View the 2007 winning submission here)
Community Development Leadership
Any municipal practice that demonstrates the municipal corporation's commitment to building and sustaining a vibrant community and fostering strong community spirit and engaged citizens. (View the 2007 winning submission here)
Environmental Stewardship
Any municipal practice that demonstrates the municipal corporation's work as a steward of the environment, or the municipal corporation's efforts to encourage environmental sustainability within their community. (New category for 2008)

Submitting Your Nomination
- The next deadline for submitting nominations will be in March 2009.
- Packages MUST be typewritten or electronically completed.
- The total length of each nomination package is limited to EIGHT pages, not including cover letters.
- Nominations may be downloaded for completion and returned to awards@communilink.sk.ca. E-mail is the preferred method for submitting nominations.

Evaluation Process
After the deadline, program administration will review completed nominations and provide them to the selection panel for review and consideration, who will then select a winner and a finalist. Their decisions are guided by the category definitions, general criteria and your answers to the category specific questions. The more information you provide in your nomination, the more the selection panel will have to base their decisions on. Each nominator is encouraged to provide detailed, specific and measurable content.
