Saskatchewan Municipal Awards

The Saskatchewan Municipal Awards (SMA) was established to celebrate the many excellent practices municipal governments of all sizes serving the residents of Saskatchewan use on a daily basis. These awards seek to showcase a municipality's practice of:

• good governance;
• effective management;
• wise resource stewardship;
• consistent public engagement;
• innovation;
• significance;
• transferability;
• sustainability; and
• capacity building.

Objectives

The SMA's objectives are:

• To recognize and celebrate excellence and innovation on the part of Saskatchewan's municipalities; and
• To promote the successes of the Saskatchewan municipal sector beyond its traditional audience ad to all of Saskatchewan.

These objectives were successfully met at the inaugural Saskatchewan Municipal Awards luncheon in May 2007. There were over 110 delegates from all over the province, and five well-deserving winners. You can view the winning practices online in the Saskatchewan Municipal Best Practices website.

The program invites you to showcase your municipality and submit your nomination for the 2008 Saskatchewan Municipal Awards and we look forward to another successful year.
